SCI-Link Hospitals

Approximately 40 NHS hospitals are supporting the SCI-LINK scheme in one or more of their departments. MASCIP, BASCIS and SIA have recognised the benefits to patients of the availability of SCI Link-Workers during the initial acute admission or later readmission of spinal cord injured individuals. SCI-LINK.ORG.UK invites SCI Link-Workers and SCI-LINK Coordinators to approach their hospital managers for permission to identify the fact that their hospital operates a SCI-LINK scheme and forward the details to SCI-LINK.ORG.UK so that the name of the hospital can be displayed on this page, along with the details of the current level of service development and how the SCI-LINK Coordinator for their hospital can be contacted. Please note that details displayed on this page will also be shared with the Spinal Injuries Association for use by their patient helpline operators to identify sources of local knowledge and support for SCI patients and their families.

As SIA’s Executive Director I am very much aware of the value placed by SCI people on the SCI-Link project when they have benefited from contact with Link-Workers when admitted outside of a SCI Centre. Paul Smith. Executive Director, Spinal Injuries Association
