DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITALS: THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE INDIFFERENT

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

This is the title of the Spinal Injury Association’s 2010 AGM Conference in Peterborough on 2nd October. This conference topic was chosen as a result of active discussion over the last year by SIA members and SCI service users on the SIA website (http://forum.spinal.co.uk/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=726). As a result, SIA have decided to bring the issues associated with the initial and readmission care and management of SCI people into an open forum. SIA are inviting SCI people along with DGH and SCIC representatives to identify and explore developments and opportunities for better supporting SCI people hospitalised outside of SCI Centres. A number of SCI Link-Workers have already been invited to attend to share their efforts to improve care standards in DGH services. If you would like to add your own experiences as a SCI Link-Worker? Then register here (http://www.spinal.co.uk/news/agm-2010) to join in the debate with your own opinions!
